Modern Wedding Traditions

As the wedding landscape continues to evolve, couples are breaking away from conventional norms and embracing new traditions that add a personal touch to their special day. From the 50+ weddings we’ve been honored to host at our venue, we’ve observed consistent inclusion of these contemporary wedding trends, leading us to believe that these modern trends are becoming a mainstay in the wedding landscape.

  1. First Look: Gone are the days of waiting until the altar for that magical first glimpse. First look photos have become a cherished modern tradition, capturing the raw emotions and genuine reactions as the couple sees each other for the first time in an intimate setting. It’s a beautiful way to share a private moment before the grand celebration unfolds.
  2. Personalized Vows: The trend of writing personalized vows is gaining popularity, as couples choose to express their love and commitment in their own words. This deeply personal touch adds sincerity and authenticity to the ceremony, creating a profound and memorable experience for both the couple and their guests.
  3. Tech-Savvy Celebrations: Technology integration has become a cornerstone of modern weddings. From paperless e-vites and wedding websites to RSVP online, to QR codes online photo-album apps, couples are leveraging technology to enhance the overall wedding experience, creating a more inclusive celebration that transcends physical boundaries.
  4. Friday Fêtes: Weekday weddings, especially those held on Fridays, are gaining popularity for several reasons. Not only do they offer cost savings and increased venue availability, but they also provide a unique twist to the traditional weekend celebrations. Couples are finding that Friday weddings allow for a more relaxed atmosphere, extending the festivities into a weekend of joy.
  5. Buffet Spread: The era of plated dinners is giving way to the popularity of buffets. This trend not only offers a wider array of food options but also promotes a more interactive dining experience for guests. Buffets allow everyone to customize their plates, catering to diverse tastes and dietary preferences.
  6. Mismatched Bridesmaids Dresses: Brides are veering away from the uniform look and embracing the mismatched bridesmaids dress trend. This allows each member of the bridal party to showcase their unique style and feel comfortable in a gown that suits them best, creating a visually dynamic and personalized bridal party.

Honorable Mentions:

  1. Signature Cocktails: Couples are showcasing their personalities through signature cocktails that reflect their taste and style. These bespoke beverages add a touch of uniqueness to the celebration, providing a delightful experience for guests at the bar.
  2. All-In-One Venue Experience: Streamlining the wedding experience, many couples are opting for venues that can host both the ceremony and reception. This not only minimizes logistical challenges for guests but also creates a seamless flow, allowing everyone to stay immersed in the celebration without the need for transportation between venues.
  3. Dessert Tables: A sweet trend taking the wedding scene by storm is the departure from large wedding cakes in favor of dessert tables. Couples are opting for an array of delectable treats such as cupcakes, macarons, cookies, and even doughnuts, creating a visually stunning and delicious focal point that caters to diverse palates. This not only adds a touch of whimsy but also allows for more variety and personalized dessert choices for the couple and their guests.
  4. Multiple Bridal Outfits: Who says you have to say yes to only one dress? Embracing the trend of multiple wedding looks, modern brides are opting for reception dress changes or wedding gowns with detachable parts (such as an overskirt or swag sleeves). This trend allows brides to curate distinct styles for various wedding moments, prioritizing comfort and freeing them to dance and celebrate with ease.

As weddings become more personalized and reflective of individual tastes, these modern traditions are reshaping the way couples celebrate their love. From intimate first looks to tech-savvy elements and unique dining experiences, these trends add a contemporary flair to the age-old tradition of saying, “I do.” Embrace the new, cherish the old, and make your wedding day a true reflection of your love story.

Green Gatherings: 3 Simple Ways to Make Your Event More Eco-Friendly

In an era where sustainability is at the forefront of our minds, hosting an eco-friendly event is not just a trend; it’s a responsibility. Whether you’re planning a wedding, corporate gathering, or any celebration in between, there are easy and impactful ways to minimize your event’s environmental footprint. In this blog post, we’ll explore three practical strategies to make your event more eco-friendly without compromising on style or experience.

  1. Mindful Menu Planning: One of the most significant contributors to an event’s ecological impact is often the catering. Opt for in-house cateringto reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation. Work closely with your caterer to minimize food waste by planning portion sizes carefully and (if possible) donating excess food to local charities. Consider incorporating vegetarian or vegan options, which typically have a lower environmental impact than meat-based dishes. Your guests will appreciate the delicious and sustainable dining experience.
  2. Waste Reduction Through Thoughtful Design: From decorations to tableware, the choices you make in event design can significantly impact waste generation. Embrace reusable or recyclable materials for decor, table settings, and signage. Minimize single-use plastics by choosing biodegradable or compostable alternatives. If your event includes printed materials, opt for digital invitations and programs to save both paper and energy. For decorations, consider scouring thrift stores for a mix-and matched look. Another great source for decoratins are community Buy-Sell-Trade groups where newlyweds often resell their decor items, and event vendors may conduct online inventory liquidation sales. If you choose fresh florals, consider coordinating with the local hospital to donate the flowers to patients; you can explore another option of “sharing” the florals with someone hosting an event the following day. By incorporating thoughtful design choices, you not only reduce waste but also set a positive example for your guests.
  3. Carbon-Neutral Transportation: Consider the environmental impact of your guests’ transportation to and from your event. Encourage carpooling, provide information about public transportation options, or even explore partnerships with eco-friendly transportation services. For a truly green touch, consider organizing shuttle services or arranging carpools to reduce the overall carbon emissions associated with individual travel. Alternatively, try finding a venue that’s within walking distance to your guests. For example, if you’re looking to host a corporate party, find a venue that your group can walk to together after work. For overnight stays, see if the venue has hotels and other accommodations nearby. This small but significant step can contribute to a more sustainable event experience.

Hosting an eco-friendly event doesn’t have to be complicated or sacrifice the elegance of your celebration. By incorporating mindful menu planning, waste reduction strategies, and carbon-neutral transportation, you can create an event that leaves a positive impact on the planet. These simple steps not only align with sustainable practices but also set the stage for a memorable gathering that reflects your commitment to a greener future. Let’s make every celebration an opportunity to celebrate both joyously and responsibly.

Selecting the Perfect Signature Cocktail

In event planning, a signature cocktail can transform an ordinary gathering into an extraordinary experience. Many venues now include this option in their drink packages, giving hosts the chance to add a personalized touch. Here are some tips to guide you in how to select the ideal signature cocktail for your upcoming event.

1. Venue Consultation

Initiate a conversation with your venue’s bartender or beverage manager. Discuss your event theme, preferences, and the type of atmosphere you wish to create. They can provide valuable insights and suggestions based on their expertise. Some venues (such as ours!) are more than happy to create a custom cocktail for you!

2. Guest Preferences

Consider the preferences of your guests when selecting a signature cocktail. Does your crowd lean towards classic cocktails, or are they adventurous and open to unique flavors? Tailoring the drink to suit their tastes ensures a universally enjoyable experience.

3. Harmonize with the Theme

Align the signature cocktail with the overall theme of your event. If it’s a formal affair, opt for sophisticated and timeless options. For a more casual gathering, consider refreshing and easy-to-sip concoctions that complement the mood.

4. Varied Options

Offer a selection of signature cocktails to cater to diverse tastes. Include options with different spirits, flavor profiles, and levels of sweetness. This ensures that there’s something for everyone, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Don’t forget about guests who may not consume alcohol. Work with the venue to provide appealing non-alcoholic alternatives so that everyone can partake in the signature drink experience.

5. Consider Seasonality

Take into account the season and time of year when making your selection. Crisp and fruity cocktails work well for spring and summer events, while warm and spiced options are ideal for fall and winter gatherings.

6. Customized Touch

Work with the venue to add a personalized touch to the signature cocktail. Whether it’s a unique garnish, a custom drink stirrer, or a themed name, these small details contribute to the uniqueness of your event.

By applying these tips, you’ll navigate the process of choosing a signature cocktail with ease, ensuring that your event is elevated by a carefully curated drink menu. Cheers to a memorable and tasteful celebration!

7 Tips for Seamless Celebrations

Planning the perfect event requires attention to detail, thoughtful organization, and clear communication. Whether you’re organizing a corporate gathering, a wedding, or a milestone celebration, these five tips will guide you towards hosting a flawless event that leaves a lasting impression.

1. Read the Fine Print: Contract Clarity is Key

Before the confetti falls and the toasts begin, carefully review your event contract. Understanding the terms and conditions, especially regarding setup and cleanup times, helps you avoid unexpected penalties or fees. Pay close attention to the stipulated duration for both setup and teardown, ensuring your event runs smoothly within the agreed-upon timeframe. This extra diligence will save you from unwelcome surprises and guarantee a stress-free event execution. The rental contract serves as a comprehensive guide, answering any questions a client may have and providing clarity on crucial details, ensuring a smooth and well-informed event planning process.

2. Signs and Ushers: Navigating a Venue

Guests arriving at a venue should feel welcomed and guided seamlessly to their destinations. Utilize clear signage and, if possible, ushers to direct attendees to the correct locations. This is particularly vital in larger venues or those with multiple event spaces and entrances (such as ours!). Eliminate confusion, enhance the guest experience, and set the tone for a well-organized affair by investing in directional signage or helpful ushers.

3. Communication is Everything: Share the Details

Keep your guests well-informed by communicating essential details in advance. Provide a detailed itinerary outlining the event schedule, so attendees know what to expect. Clearly outline food and drink packages to manage expectations and accommodate various dietary preferences. Oftentimes, the venue will provide signage for you, so be sure to ask! Additionally, share any unique features of the event, such as entertainment or interactive activities, to build anticipation and excitement. If you have a speech planned, or have something you’d like to announce to your guests, communicate with the venue beforehand so they can prepare the proper audio equipment and setup for you. Open and consistent communication ensures everyone is on the same page, contributing to a harmonious and enjoyable experience. Consider using online invites to communicate information to your guests en masse.

4. Bins: The Best Tools for Decorations

If you’re planning on setting up your own decorations, consider using large storage bins to store all your items. These are hugely instrumental in organizing your decorations – you can organize by type (all candles in one box, all votives in another, etc…), or even by table. Additionally, bins make cleaning up after your event easier. Label your bins so that anyone helping with setup and cleanup knows what goes where.

5. After the Event: Clean-Up Strategy

It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of the event, but a well-thought-out cleanup plan is just as crucial. Developing a thorough clean-up plan is paramount to avoid potential fees. Assign responsibilities to a dedicated clean-up crew to efficiently restore the venue to its original state, meeting the agreed-upon terms outlined in the contract and preventing any unforeseen charges. In addition, having a solid plan in place also means that any priceless and sentimental items won’t be accidentally misplaced.

6. Don’t Assume Anything: Clarify Venue Services

Avoid assumptions by thoroughly reading your contract, and explicitly asking what additional tasks the venue and its staff can undertake. While venues are often willing to assist, the venue coordinator is not synonymous with an event planner. See here for the differences between a venue coordinator and an event planner.

Make inquiries about specific services, such as decorating or distributing favors, to ensure a clear understanding of what falls under the venue’s responsibilities and what may require external coordination. That being said, if there’s a task not explicitly outlined in the contract, your venue may be open to accommodating extra requests provided that they are compensated for the additional service.

It’s essential to note that venues typically handle their own items due to liability reasons; entrusting outside items to the venue staff could pose risks in the event of damage or misplacement. Please note that most rental vendors prefer to setup their own equipment, inquire with them before asking the venue to see if they can setup your event for you. Always clarify and discuss any potential concerns to ensure a seamless collaboration between your vision and the venue’s capabilities.

7. Personal Touches: Elevate the Experience

Set your event apart by adding a personal touch that resonates with your guests. Whether it’s a thematic element, custom decorations, or a surprise performance, these thoughtful details create lasting memories. Consider incorporating a unique element that aligns with the occasion, leaving a lasting impression on your attendees and making your event unforgettable.

By implementing these seven tips, you’ll navigate the complexities of event planning with finesse, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for both you and your guests. Happy planning!

Themed Nights and Events at The Circ Bar and Rabbit Hole

Welcome to The Circ Bar and Rabbit Hole, where every night is a different kind of party. We’re not like your average venue – we’re all about themed nights and events that make every visit a fresh experience. From baked brunches to karaoke competitions, we’ve got something for everyone. So, stick around as we give you the lowdown on our themed events – where things get interesting, and the fun never stops!

At The Circ Bar, we start our weeks off with Tequila Tuesdays. From 6pm to 2am we’re serving up $3 tacos, $5 tequila shots, $5 Corona or Modelo, $5 margaritas, and $5 micheladas. My personal favorite is a couple of barbacoa tacos, a “seasonal” margarita, and a game of pool!

We follow Tequila Tuesdays up with Whiskey Wednesdays. This tradition started in the back Lounge bar with some long time regulars and some good whiskey. Since then, we’ve expanded our deal to be available at the front bar as well as the back bar. You can get $5 Irish Whiskey, $5 100 proof bourbon or rye, $5 PBR, or a $15 smash burger and pint of PBR combo.

Thursdays kick off the night with Trivia! Gather your friends and join us from 7pm-9pm for a chance to show off your skills and take home a gift card. With so many spaces around our venue we like to mix it up and host Trivia at our different bars. In the warmer months you can usually find trivia outside by our Tiki bar or up on our Roof Deck patio. When the weather’s not so great, we move everyone inside to our Main Bar. Every now and then, we’ll even host trivia in our underground bar, Rabbit Hole, so be sure to check on social media where the fun is happening.

On Thursday-Saturday from 8pm-2am, we keep the fun rolling with karoke. Challenge your friends to sing or practice your vocals for our karaoke competition: Circ Idol. We host Ann Arbor’s most epic karaoke competition every first Wednesday of the month, complete with glory and prizes for the winners.

If karaoke’s not your thing but you love music and dancing, then you can head downstairs to Rabbit Hole and check out our amazing rotating DJs mixing it up with music Thursday-Saturday. Not only are their tunes great, but Rabbit Hole’s space is nothing short of captivating. With subtle neon lights, moody lighting, lush greenery, and an enchanting bar, you’ll feel like you just walked into wonderland. It’s the perfect place to grab a cocktail, put on some dancing shoes, and enjoy a night out on the town.

At Circ, the fun doesn’t end on Saturday. We keep things interesting with Brunch from 11am-3pm on Sundays. Stop by for a $10 all you can eat breakfast buffet, $3 shots, $6 mimosas, and $12 mimosa pitchers. After you’ve got a full belly and a drink in your hand, stick around for The Original Baked Bingo with the first game called at 1:00PM.

At The Circ Bar and Rabbit Hole we know how to party, particularly when it comes to the holidays. We host the #1 Halloween Party in Ann Arbor every year to celebrate  spooky season. This year we’ve went all out with fun fall drinks including Boozy Hot Chocolate, Caramel Apple Slushies, and Hot Toddies. Upstairs in Circ, karaoke runs until midnight at which time the winner of the costume contest will be announced, afterwhich our DJs go live. In Tiki, we have Joe and the Ruckus playing live. Scapegrace Gin sponsored our epic dance party in Rabbit Hole. We also had live fire performer Connor Otto delighting the crowd with his spellbinding performances.

If you need another reason to get dressed up, look no further than New Years Eve at the Circ Bar.  Last year, we deck out our building with glitz and glam to transport our guests back to the roaring 20’s. Guests dawned their best flapper dresses, suits and masks to celebrate a Gatsby-esq party of epic proportions with us. With the theme changing every year, you’ll just have to wait until December to find out this year’s theme!

An Inside Look into Susie & Garrett’s Big Day

Welcome to the enchanting wedding celebration of Susie and Garrett, a day that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who attended. This magical union took place on our picturesque Roof Deck, where the couple exchanged heartfelt vows beneath the open sky. The breathtaking lush backdrop of the late summer landscape set the stage for a love story destined to soar.

Photographer: https://hildegardphotography.com/

After the ceremony, the guests were invited to savor a delightful Cocktail Hour, where the Lounge and Roof Deck were transformed into a haven of joy and mingling. Amidst laughter and conversation, guests enjoyed a signature mocktail, aptly named after the couple’s beloved feline companion, whiskers and all. The couple opted for three delicious appetizers for their guests to snack on: Kung Pao Brussel Sprouts, Cheddar Mushroom Onion Tartlets, and a Tomato and Basil Bruschetta.

But the fun didn’t stop there! During the cocktail hour, guests were entertained with engaging activities, including a word search and crossword puzzle, ensuring that everyone shared in the excitement of the day.

The love and laughter continued to grow as the sun began to set. The breathtaking moments were only amplified as the party transitioned from cocktail hour to dinner, with guests moving into the Main Bar, where a delectable dinner awaited the guests. The buffet spread started with a Garden Salad, followed by three delectable sides: Baked Mac and Cheese, Balsamic Vegetable Medley, and Roasted Rosemary Red Potatoes. For entrées, guests could choose either Roasted Lemon Chicken Breast or Argenitinian Steak with Chimichurri Sauce (or both!), or a Savory Mushroom Polenta for any Vegan/Vegetarian guests.

After the wedding party’s grand entrance, the happy couple went right into their cake cutting, with a stunning personal-sized cake from Zingerman’s Cake Studio that matched their decor. Speeches from loved ones followed before dinner was served.

The epic wedding afterparty in Root was an unforgettable celebration that truly set the night on fire. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as guests revved up their competitive spirit with exhilarating rounds of Mario Kart, creating unforgettable memories and rivalries. As the beats from the talented DJ Kha Di Le from Complete Weddings Detroit reverberated through the venue, the dance floor came alive with joyful rhythms.

To fuel the festivities, a tantalizing ramen bar satisfied late-night cravings, while a coffee and tea bar offered a soothing respite for those in need of a caffeine boost. And, of course, the boba bar from Sharetea added a sweet touch, leaving everyone sipping and savoring as the night grew deeper and the celebration more epic.

I had the privilege of reaching out to the bride and groom, and they were delighted to share their experience with us. Here’s what the bride had to say about her magical wedding day.

“If you want a magical wedding in a gorgeous setting with exceptional service, this venue is the ideal choice.”

“We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at The Circ & Root on September 8, 2023, and it was nothing short of magical. This venue exceeded our expectations in every way possible.

First and foremost, Root, where we had our “after party” reception, was breathtaking. Its rustic beauty and moody ambiance created the perfect party environment. The surrounding location added to the charm, making it an idyllic setting for a wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque rooftop to exchange our vows.

The staff and service at The Circ & Root were truly impeccable. From the moment we inquired about the venue to the end of our wedding day, they consistently went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their attention to detail and professionalism made us feel like we were in capable hands throughout the entire planning process and on the big day itself. They were responsive, accommodating, and truly dedicated to making our wedding a success.

One of the highlights was the bridal suite, which was nothing short of amazing. It provided a comfortable and luxurious space for me and my bridesmaids to prepare for the day ahead. It was not only beautifully designed but also incredibly functional, with everything we needed to get ready in style. The marketing team and event team also surprised us with the most thoughtful gesture to make sure that our pet was included. We truly appreciated the fact they were so accommodating with our guests that did not drink.

The venue’s contribution to making our wedding day memorable cannot be overstated. The Circ Bar & Root provided the perfect atmosphere for a romantic and unforgettable celebration. The combination of the stunning scenery, top-notch service, and beautiful facilities made our day truly special.

In conclusion, we would recommend The Circ & Root to anyone searching for the perfect wedding venue. They made our dream wedding a reality, and we can’t thank them enough. If you want a magical wedding in a gorgeous setting with exceptional service, this venue is the ideal choice. We would choose The Circ Bar & Root over and over again.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for making our wedding day everything we ever hoped for and more.”

Beyond the Classroom: Meta’s Stellar Celebration of Teachers

Last summer, the tech giant, Meta (known for Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp), hosted a series of events in the United States to honor teachers. They chose Ann Arbor as one of their locations, inviting teachers from the surrounding areas as well. With 200 of Michigan’s greatest in attendance, the evening began.

These educators lined up outside the Circ Bar and entered through the Mural Courtyard where each guest checked in, receiving their nametag and a drink ticket. As they walked up the Roof Deck stairs, they were greeted with a beautiful view of Ann Arbor. In the Lounge, the food began with a Mediterranean food station, featuring our Vegetable Crudite with hummus, falafel bites, and a tomato cucumber salad. As they entered our Main Bar, the space lit up with beautiful string lights and floral arrangements from Yael Zoldan and a jazz quartet. The Main Bar also served our popular Bar Food station, which featured guest favorite Baked Mac and Cheese, Spicy Cauliflower Bites, Battered Chicken Nuggets, and the debut of our Beef Sliders. In the Main Bar, Meta also set up multiple stations for the guests to test out various VR products often used in classrooms.

As the evening wound down, each teacher was gifted a canvas bag filled with items from Michigan businesses. Each bag had a Michigan Baseball cap from Kiloh & Co., Strawberry Lip Scrub from Wicked Soaps Co., Bar Soap from Cellar Door Bath Supply Co., a candle from KarmaLit, and a succulent. Besides receiving these favors, the teachers were also invited to apply for a $250 grant to use for their classroom.

We spoke with a couple of teachers during and after the event. Every single one of them expressed gratitude to Meta and Circ for hosting this event. The few that we spoke with after the event who did receive grants from Meta had plans to use them to buy new supplies for their classrooms.

In the warm glow of the summer evening in Ann Arbor, Meta’s celebration of educators left an indelible mark on the hearts of Michigan’s finest teachers. The picturesque setting at Circ Bar’s Roof Deck, complete with stunning city views and delectable Mediterranean cuisine, set the stage for a night of appreciation and inspiration. As teachers mingled and tested out cutting-edge VR products, the event not only recognized their tireless efforts but also empowered them with the opportunity to enhance their classrooms through $250 grants. The generosity extended by Meta and Circ was met with profound gratitude, and the impact of this evening will undoubtedly resonate in classrooms across Michigan. With canvas bags filled with thoughtful gifts from local businesses and hearts full of appreciation, the teachers left with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to make a difference in the lives of their students. This celebration was not just a momentary gesture; it was a testament to the enduring value of education and the dedication of those who shape our future.

Our Favorite 2023 Wedding Trends (so far!)

Love is in the air, and with it comes the promise of countless beautiful unions. As we step head into Fall, the wedding season is in full bloom, and it brings with it a fresh wave of enchanting wedding trends that have captured our hearts. From dreamy decor to unique themes and everything in between, join us on a journey as we unveil Our Favorite 2023 Wedding Trends (so far!). If you’re planning your special day or simply love staying ahead of the wedding curve, you won’t want to miss these inspiring ideas that are set to make this year’s weddings truly unforgettable.

Unique Seating Charts

It feels like every week, we kept getting blown away by our bride’s creativity! Some of our favorites include: 1) the bride and groom collect vintage stamps, and used the stamp designs in place of numbers! The metaphorical icing on top is that they also used the same images as matching coasters for their seating chart. 2) A folding screen, but the bride and groom added little chairs on top! 3) A standing mirror, with the names listed alphabetically for ease!

See this IG post to take a closer look!

Disco Balls

Looking to infuse your wedding with a touch of glamour and a dash of retro flair? Look no further than the disco ball – the trendiest, coolest decoration to elevate your celebration! These iconic shimmering orbs are making a dazzling comeback in the world of weddings, adding a nostalgic yet utterly stylish vibe to your special day. From signage to an elaborate disco display above the dance floor, we love how these disco balls make everything that much more fun! See this display by Modernly Events here!

Personalization

We’ve seen so many personal touches in this year’s weddings. A classic way many of our couples choose to add a personal touch is to choose Signature Cocktails, either featuring one to represent the couple (for example, one of our couples featured their favorite drink from a vacation they took together), or featuring two drinks to represent each of the newlyweds! We’ve seen a lot of our couples name their signature drink after their pet(s)! See this post for other ways you can incorporate your beloved furry friend into your nuptials.

Some other notable favorites we’ve seen: 1) bride & groom’s faces as photo booth props 2) a temp tattoo trough with the bride & groom faces as tattoo options 3) using photos of the bride & groom when they were _ age for table numbers.

See above: honorable mention to super fun physical avatars (either as a table topper, a decoration for a sweetheart table, or decoration for the Welcoming Table) to represent the happy couple. We’ve seen the happy couple represented as custom lego blocks figurines, teddy bears, mice, and even Pokemon!

Embracing Color

The last two years (2021-2022), we’ve seen a lot of forest green with gold accents. This year, we’ve seen a huge departure from that trend and our couples have opted instead for bright colors, and a lot of them! From pink tablecloths, bright florals, to rainbow cocktail napkins, using colors is a surefire way to make your wedding decor memorable. This is one trend that we think will be sticking around for 2024 as well!

Skipping the Big Cake

One of the items we always seem to be throwing out at the end of the night is always cake! We’ve seen a rise of dessert bars and unique dessert displays (a donut wall anyone?) over the last few years, and more and more couples are opting for non-cake items to serve to their guests after dinner. Our couples this year really seem to love pie! Still want to do cake? We’ve actually seen tons of couples opt for a smaller, personal sized cake for the ceremonial cutting of the cake and the photo-op, but serve sheet cake instead (if you do this, your vendor in charge of cake cutting will thank you). The cake will be cut up anyways, so no one would even notice the difference!

To enter the Saloon Suite, you will take the black iron staircase on the front of the building all the way up. Typically the door to this set of stairs is locked, but will be unlocked for your event. There is also elevator access from the Main Bar (by the entrance to the Lounge).

Saloon Suite

The Saloon Suite was formerly the previous owner’s apartment where he lived large with a hot tub, tanning salon, and even a sauna! This space doubles as a complimentary Bridal Suite for our wedding events and now our newest event space. It has been upgraded to include the following features:

After pass the host stand and round the corner, you’re met by a fork – continue straight to the dance floor and to the main bar to order, or head left towards the bathrooms and the satellite bar. The space can be a little confusing to navigate, but it’s helpful to note that all the vaults lead to the dance floor.
