Why do I need security? What does The Circ Bar security do?
Bar security plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons and staff. Their primary responsibilities include checking IDs, maintaining order, enforcing rules and regulations, preventing intoxication, and assisting staff.
Overall, bar security plays a critical role in promoting a safe and enjoyable social environment, ensuring that everyone can have a good time while adhering to the establishment’s rules and regulations.
For weddings and private events, our security staff are responsible for all of the reasons listed previously, but more specifically:
- Guest safety: Security personnel can ensure the safety and well-being of all guests, providing a sense of comfort and reassurance throughout the event.
- Preventing gatecrashers: Uninvited guests or gatecrashers can disrupt the celebration. Security staff monitor entrances to prevent unauthorized individuals and keep our regular from entering your privately rented spaces.
- Handling emergencies: In case of any unexpected incidents or emergencies, security personnel are trained to respond swiftly and efficiently, ensuring that everyone remains safe.
- Managing conflicts: Large gatherings can sometimes lead to disagreements or conflicts. Security staff can intervene and de-escalate situations before they escalate into something more significant.
- Controlling crowd flow: During certain parts of the wedding, such as the ceremony or reception entrance, having security can help manage the flow of guests and maintain order. Our security staff often act as de facto ushers, helping guests navigate our venue.
- ADA Access: Our venue is ADA compliant, and feature multiple elevators, lifts, and ramps to help the differently-abled patrons. Our staff will personally escort your guests who need elevator and/or lift access.
What is the service charge? Do I need to tip the bartenders?
Our “service charge” is not gratuity, the IRS views it as taxable income even though we distribute it to our employees on their W2’s. In other words, our bartenders are “tipped out” via the service charge. For cash bars, we put a 20% auto-gratuity on all purchases to ensure our barstaff are properly compensated. That being said, guests are more than welcome to show their appreciation to our dedicated bar staff through additional tips.
